Hi, My name is Linda and I have come to amputee golf as a result of limb loss! What a surprise! I was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcome 6 years ago and after several attempts at lime salvage had a hip disarticulation in March of 2007. A few hiccups on we (my prosthetist and I) are still working at getting a good socket fit! It will come. My golf game is, for want of a better word, 'interesting'.
Did not play golf before so certainly it is a fun time out there on the fairway! Occasionally there is slight improvement! I am looking forward to the Open and the opportunity to meet many inspirational people. Over the last 6 years I have met many of these and find their energy and determination to be a wonderful gift to be part of.
In terms of work - I am pondering my future having spent the last 29 years teaching. Not sure yet what door will open for me but it will.
I have 4 wonderful children (most of the time!) who are slightly incredulous about my golfing abilities. Came here from UK in 1975 and believe this is the best country in the world. Travel quite often as family is spread about and I love it.
See you all& soon.
