'Never look down on someone, unless you're helping them up.'

'SAAGA concentrates on abilities not disabilities.'

Emily from Connectability came to my house and asked me what sports I liked. I told her golf, soccer coaching, bike riding, footy, playing on my Playstation 2 and Wii. Then we worked out what is the most important sport and mum and I said had been looking for a golf coach for a long time. I told Emily that I used to go riding at Blackwood RDA but I had to have my pacemaker replaced and wasn't allowed to ride anymore. Emily said she would try and find something for me. Emily emailed with information about golf the next day and rang me. Mum rang the Amputee Golf Association and spoke to Gary Hart. He said there was a clinic on Sunday 22nd which was next Sunday. I was pretty excited about going to the golf clinic at Grange and it didn't matter that I wasn't an amputee and that I have very short arms and only three fingers on each arm; I could play. Gary also said there was a tournament in November and I could think about entering it.

On Sunday mum and I went to Grange golf club and met Gary (who used to play football for Leeds) and Warren who is a professional golf tutor. Emily met us at the golf clinic and carried my clubs. It was good that Emily was there. I was really happy to met Gary and Warren . There were other people playing and learning golf in the clinic. Warren came over and showed me how to hit the ball better and make it go further. Warren was cool and then I started to hit balls and see how far they would go . Gary came and helped me work out how to stand better and had some good ideas about making my clubs easier to use. Warren and Gary kept showing me how to hit the ball and telling me when I had done it right. Then it was time to go and Garry said to come to the next clinic in July and to think about the tournament. I said I would definitely be there. Then we went to the Pro shop with Warren who gave me a buggy and said he would fix my clubs for me. Mum and I said thanks. Mum went to buy me a buggy but Warren said I could just have it for free. We said thanks and Warren said he would ring when my clubs are ready. It was a very exciting, enjoyable day. Even better was meeting my friends Ben and Tim for lunch.

Gary rang mum on Tuesday and told her my clubs were ready that she didn't have to pay, just go and pick them up for me. Thank you Emily, Gary and Warren. I will be back on the 5th of July at the next clinic and hope to be good enough for the tournament because that would be really fun.
