Hi Gary here,

Just a reminder to you good people - please go to Albums (click top or bottom), then click on the link at the bottom ('click here for music with slide show'). You'll be reminded how courageous and determined you Amputees are. Great song too, don't forget to turn your speakers up. :o)

Please also read Aidan's golf story. Aidan started First Swing Golf Clinics at the age of 12 and is now 15.

Enjoy,

Gary

23rd January 2009

Just a short note to bring to your attention:

In November we had the SA Open; one of the competitors (a guy named Kevin Pugh from Queensland) struggled with a great deal of pain.

Kev being the nice person he is, never complained to anyone; he just got on with it, but on his return home he went to his doctor. They rushed him into hospital, and the end result was the amputation of two toes.

I'm pleased to say that Kev through great support from his wife and his own determination has pulled through with flying colours; he is moving forward.

Kev, I admire your determination and your courage and, on behalf of the members of SAAGA, we wish you and your family all the very best.

Your strength and determination is acknowledged and you are, in my opinion, what Amputee Golf is all about.

Kind regards,

Gary Hart

Announcement

23rd December 2008

Hello everybody,

I would like to thank everybody who participated in the 1st South Australian Amputee Golf Open. As I have said before in regards to the the participant's e-mails, it was a great success.

As you know, we have a forum, where it is requested of your good selves that you go on there and add your comments on what we can offer you in regards to the game of golf. Over the last 2 weeks, there have been e-mails going to and fro between QAGA, NSW Inc. (AAG), Limbs 4 Life and SAAGA. This is all very good, but we have a forum for everybody, and I have asked on numerous occasions what I (Gary Hart) can do to make things better for Australian amputee golfers.

I believe myself and each state where there is a golf association, as well as Limbs 4 Life, are here to be of service for all concerned. Myself, I have not replied to any of these e-mails simply because I need to know from you all (amputees) what you require from each association or governing body which includes golf. So I urge everybody that is a part of amputee golf in Australia to please get involved with the forum, and let us know in which ways I/we can be of service to you.

In SA I am about to start the First Swing Golf Clinics in Adelaide, but also taking the First Swing Golf Clinics to SA country regions, so amputees of SA will have the opportunity in the country and city to participate in mini tournaments leading up to the 2nd South Australian Amputee Open in November. This venture will also include a tournament and clinics close to the border of Victoria prior to the SA and Victorian opens.

Please keep a close eye on the calendar and new flash sections.

I look forward to hearing from you in the new year.

Kind regards,

Gary Hart
President

Announcement

22nd December 2008

Hello everybody; Gary here.

Just a brief note. On the 19th of December, the South Australian Amputee Golf Association were invited to participate in a Scout's Australia Day 4-ball Ambrose event (able-bodied people). We were fortunate to come runner-up with a score of 51.3 (winning score 51). The SAAGA team consisted of Stephanie Na (captain), Rodney Coombe (B/K), Chris Crichton (B/E), Gary Hart (A/K). The day was a great success. It was held under the watchful eye of Warren Mercer, club professional at the Grange Golf Club and technical advisor to S.A.A.G.A..

Local co-ordinator Ashleigh Thomson, Scouts Australia (SA Branch), did a tremendous job and we will be working closely together in the future encouraging junior scouts of the future to come out and join us in our First Swing Golf Clinics. Great job; well done Ashleigh.

Stephanie Na, who as you all know played in our Pro-Am Celebrity Day and is the ambassador to the South Australia Amputee Golf Association, will depart from our shores just after Christmas to participate in the European qualifying school where I'm sure she'll be successful. Stephanie has just been voted Australian Amateur Women's Golfer of the Year, and represents SA with great dignity and pride. Stephanie has all the attributes and personality to go all the way in her chosen profession.

On a closing note, I would like to congratulate Stephanie, Rod and Chris, and admire the way you represented S.A.A.G.A..

Stephanie, I wish you all the success that can be bestowed upon you, and I thank you so much for your time and consideration in supporting me and my venture with the South Australian Amputee Golf Association/First Swing Golf Clinics.

Kind regards,

Gary Hart

7th September 2008

Hello Members, Guests and First Swing Golf Participants,

In an effort to bring you an enjoyable Web Site, you will see it has been revamped. There is now a music section at the top of the Home Page which consists of good Aussie music. There are 4 songs to choose from and they will run whilst you browse the site. You can stop, fast forward or just go to the next tune.

I have also added flags at the side of the Home Page which will take you to various golf Tournaments around the world and in Australia. When you click on a flag it will take you to that particular Country's or State's Tournament details. I hope to have them in date order and as a Tournament gets closer, it's flag will flash.

The Forum section has also been updated to make it a little easier to read and you will notice it is in the Aussie green and gold.

Also, there is a Gallery which can be used to post your tournament photo's and an up to date video section.

I will endeavour to keep striving to keep this site updated and interesting for your viewing.
