6th October 2008

Hi everybody, Gary Hart here.

Well, we are a step closer to the open. 4 days left before registration closes, so if you have not done so already, I suggest you get your entry forms in.

I would like to start off with a thought for Jesse Aungles (junior member). Jesse will be going into hospital on Tuesday for an operation. On behalf of the members and your friends at the First Swing Golf Clinics, we wish you well and a speedy recovery. We hope to see you back on the golf course soon. Good luck.

On another note, I would like to welcome back our very successful Paralympians from Beijing. Matt Cowdrey, Jay Dohnt - you did yourselves and your country proud, lads. On  behalf of your fellow members of the First Swing Golf Clinics, we congratulate you. Now you  have another big milestone to conquer, which of course is the First South Australian Amputee Golf Open in November.

I would also at this point like to mention to all participants of the First Swing Golf Clinics, how proud I am of you all for your determination and support. You have all improved vastly, and it makes me proud and privileged to be associated with you all, juniors included.

If you have looked in the News Flash section, you will see there is an announcement regarding the 18th and 25th of October, where we will be going out onto the main championship golf course. This, of course, is in readiness of the First South Australian Amputee Golf Open in November. I wish you all good luck; remember everything that you have learnt. Please just go out and enjoy yourselves, because you will be in the company of a lot of very nice, understanding people.

If I may remind all committee members the final committee meeting will not be our usual Monday evening, but Tuesday the 21st of October at 6:30 at the Comfort Inn, Haven Marina. I look forward to catching up with you all.

For our volunteers, Chris Crichton and Rodney Coombe will shortly be in touch with you regarding the First South Australian Amputee Golf Open. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for you support and I look forward to meeting up with you all on the first tee.

For our overseas and interstate competitors, we welcome you with open arms and friendship, and hope you enjoy our tournament.

In closing, I would again like to congratulate you all on your efforts and the vast improvement you have made. Again., Jesse, our thoughts are with you; we look forward to your return.

See you all next week at the Shores.

Regards,
Gary Hart
