Hi, Gary Hart here,
President South Australian Amputee Golf,

Hello Everybody,

I hope this month’s newsletter finds you all well.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce three new participants in our First Swing Golf Clinics.

Firstly Matt Cowdry. Matt is an Armie who represents Australia in the Para Olympic swimming team, who has taken time out from his busy schedule to join the Clinics in preparation for November’s tournament. Welcome Matt and good luck in China.

Secondly we have a young lady by the name of Linda Chapman. Linda uses a Canad ian socket which means she has no stump (very impressive) and although she just finished chemo last week, her great grit and determination saw her join in the First Swing Golf Clinics, also in preparation for November. Welcome Linda, you outdid yourself.

Thirdly, we have a gentleman by the name of Rennie D’Arcy, a double amputee who is still in hospital. He started in the Repat Putter’s Club and has now graduated to the First Swing Golf Clinics whilst still in hospital. Now that is courage and determination. Welcome Rennie.

Onto our regulars – unfortunately, Ken Baillie, who has just become our Treasurer, couldn’t make this weeks Clinic due to sickness. Hope you’re back on your feet soon, mate. Catch you at the next Clinic.

Also Chris Crichton, our Secretary, was off sick with food poisoning after his recent trip to Thailand. I wish you well and a full recovery, Chris.

Finally, Wayne Riches, whom you all know and who has taken on the important job of confirming your attendance at the Golf Clinics, just underwent treatment for cataracts and tells me that he is seeing the ball even better. A big thank you for your support, Wayne.

The Clinics are going from strength to strength and as I’ve promised before, I will get on to arranging a third clinic in the month in order to get people out onto the golf course. I applaud you all. Your courage and determination is magic and remember, we Amps are a special family.

Top notch.

Gary Hart

President SAAGA

PS: I will be adding to the website a Forum page where you will all be able to send in questions and communicate with other amputees. Please be patient while I get this up and running.
